What each ratio means
Program expense ratio
Shows how much of every dollar spent goes to mission work. Watchdogs like Charity Navigator generally look for 70% or better.
Administrative expense ratio
Covers management, HR, and general operations. Below 15% is a healthy signal; above 35% usually warrants review.
Fundraising efficiency ratio
